Architect and Builder’s Comments

- The house engages the entire setting, not just the lake view.
- The circulation is choreographed following the slope of the hillside and to bring occupants down to the main space culminating in the primary view.
- Most water front houses parallel the shoreline to afford the same view from every room. Here we set the house perpendicular to the shoreline and look over and through the adjoining room below.
Hawkes Construction
25 Years experience building architecturally-designed homes in Northern California.
Broad strokes with finely wrought details converge where the water of Clear Lake meets the old fire of Mount Konocti. Precise fenestration allows each level and space of this home to access the site and vistas. Mottled red plaster skin emerges from the red volcanic soil. Protection of the immediate flora during construction and careful siting allowed this 207 foot long structure to nestle in to the mature oak trees.
